How tracking works
A pixel is a small code on your pages. When someone visits or fills in a form, it tells the ad platform. The ad platform then shows your ads to similar people and tells you which ads made money. No pixel, no learning.
Funnels and websites: add it once in settings
Open the funnel or website, go to its Settings, and paste the code into the Head tracking code box. It then loads on every page of that site.
One page only: add it to that page
To fire an event on one page only (like Lead on the thank-you page), open the page's settings and paste the event code into that page's tracking code box.
Use this for a lead event
On the thank-you page only, add the Lead event under your base pixel code.

If your main website lives somewhere else, Sites > External Tracking gives you a script to put on that site so visits and forms still show in revenu's attribution.

Open your page with Meta Pixel Helper or Google Tag Assistant running, or watch the test events screen in Meta Events Manager while you submit a test form.
Ad platforms see your visits and leads, your ads learn, and you can see which ads paid off.
